2025 DR. KAZI HUSSAIN HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP

The Dr. Kazi Hussain Scholarship, established in 2017, honors WIFT-Florida filmmaker and industry leader, Dr. Kazi Hussain, founder of TWC Pegasus Film Works & Media Inc., who was a mentor to many young people entering the field.
One student from each branch will be selected to receive a Dr. Kazi Hussain scholarship in the amount of $500 each. The award will be directly applied to tuition for postsecondary schools for those interested in film or a career in the media arts. The Scholarship is made possible by the Dr. Kazi Hussain Fund of Women in Film/TV-Florida
Eligibility and Selection:
Applicants must be student members of WIFT-FL, 18 years of age or younger, and have a strong interest in film or video. Previous experience in film or video production experience is preferred but not required.
Priority will be given to those who have demonstrated a high degree of commitment in their studies so far and who clearly articulate their future goals in film.
A panel of professional filmmakers from our scholarship committee will review applications. Finalists may be called for personal interviews. Scholarship winners will be asked to attend a brief public ceremony at which they will be recognized on a future date to be determined.
2025 SHORT FILM FINISHING FUND GRANT

The Short Film Finishing Fund Grant is presented to a current WIFT-FL member to help complete an existing short film project in the amount up to $2000. We encourage submissions of quality projects in all genres.
OVERVIEW
The WIFT-FL Board of Directors approves the final selection of the WIFT-FL Short Film Finishing Fund Grant Recipient. Qualifying funds apply to the project submitted with the grant application. The award amount is determined by the WIFT-FL Scholastic Grant Fund Committee presiding over the grant cycle calendar year. Only one (1) project per applicant for each grant cycle is permitted.
Announcement of the recipient will take place during a WIFT-FL event as determined by the WIFT-FL Scholastic Grant Fund Committee. Recipient is expected to be present.
