'Surviving the Freelance Production Life' w/ Guest Derek Tow

Derek Tow began working in film and television in Orlando, Florida after graduating from Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis with a media degree in 1995. Now, seventeen years in the "biz", he's worked on international television series, feature films and almost everything in between. He originally freelanced for ten years and worked his way through the ranks from production assistant to assistant director and eventually producer and director. In 2001, he founded The South 40 production company and began producing projects as a sole proprietor before incorporating with a business partner in 2010. He also owns and operates The Box, a 3,000 sq ft media production space in Indianapolis Indiana. He served as the assistant director on the feature film Monster with Charlize Theron, as well as, these production credits: music videos for The Dave Mathews Band, The Back Street Boys, Creed, Shakira, Justin Bieber, Branford Marsales, commercials for Donato's Pizza, GM, Universal Studios, Disney World, Sea World, National Car Rental, Hoosier Lottery, Florida Lottery.
