WELCOME

Women in Film & Television Florida (WIFT-FL) works hard to provide educational and networking opportunities for both women and men in the film, television, and digital media industry in the state of Florida. WIFT-FL advocates for parity in the entertainment industry and energizes members by illuminating their achievements, presenting training and professional development programs, awarding scholarships and grants, and providing access to a supportive community of peers.

MASTERCLASS SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

We are pleased to share a special opportunity available through WIFT-US.

As part of the WIFT-US MasterClass Scholarship program, each Chapter organization may select three members to receive a complimentary one-year membership to MasterClass.com.

This is a wonderful opportunity to expand your knowledge, sharpen your creative and professional skills, and learn from some of the most respected experts in their fields.

WIFT-FL will be accepting applications from interested members for consideration. Selected recipients will be chosen from the applications received and submitted in accordance with WIFT-US guidelines.

2026 WIFT-FL Video/Film/Theatre Summer Camp Scholarship Program
Empowering the Next Generation of Storytellers

Presented by: Women in Film & Television – Florida (WIFT-FL)
Available to: Students entering grades 4 through 12
Branches Participating: All 6 WIFT-FL Branches (South Florida, Orlando,  Tampa Bay, Jacksonville, Daytona Beach, Melbourne)

Program Overview

WIFT-FL is proud to launch the Video/Film Summer Camp Scholarship Program, designed to allow aspiring young creators across Florida to explore their passion for visual storytelling. Each of our six branches will offer four scholarships valued at $250 each, helping to cover the cost of tuition for the WIFT-FL-endorsed summer camp focused on filmmaking, video production, and creative collaboration.

Scholarship Details

  • Number of Scholarships per Branch: 4
  • Scholarship Amount: $250 per recipient
  • Eligible Grades: Students currently enrolled in grades 4 through 12
  • Camp Focus Areas: Filmmaking, scriptwriting, cinematography, editing, on-camera performance, teamwork, and industry fundamentals

Eligibility Criteria

Must be a WIFT-FL Student Member before 06/01/26

A parent must be a member for the students between the ages of 4-17

  • Must reside in Florida and be enrolled in a public, private, charter, or homeschool program
  • Must demonstrate interest in filmmaking or media arts
  • Must submit a completed application (see below) by the deadline
  • Must agree to attend all days of the summer camp if selected

Application Requirements

  • Completed online or paper scholarship application
  • Parent/guardian contact information and signature
  • A short-written statement (250 words or less) by the student:
    “Why I Want to Learn About Filmmaking”
  • Optional: Sample creative work (drawing, video, photo, story, etc.)

Key Dates

  • Applications Open: 05/15/25
  • Application Deadline: On a first-come basis
  • Summer Camp Dates: 06/01 – 08/30

Selection Process

Each WIFT-FL branch will form a local selection committee composed of board members and/or mentors who will review submissions and select recipients based on interest, creativity, and need.
